The all-new 2022 Honda Civic was unveiled last night and anytime you redesign Canada's best-selling car, the unveiling of a new generation will be quite the event. The new Civic, the 11th generation of the Civic family, doesn't disappoint and has quite a few upgrades and improvements across the board.
The first thing we notice about the all-new 2022 Honda Civic is that it features a brand-new exterior with a sportier design, short rear overhang, bold front end, and an overall improved look. The new Civic will turn heads wherever it goes. The all-new Honda Civic also features a brand-new interior with a sober and clean design that is complemented by impressive technology. The Touring model gets a new 10.2 in digital instrument cluster, something you will not find very often in this segment. Moreover, buyers can choose between a 7 inch or 9 inch centre display which now features Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. There is also a wireless charging system for your phone, and the new Civic also gets upgraded comfort features like a heated steering wheel and premium Bose sound system.
Safety has also been improved. The new Civic gets advanced driver assistance technologies such as Traffic Jam Assist which will join other features found in the current Honda Sensing system. The new 2022 Honda Civic also features revolutionary airbags which are designed to cradle the head and protect it in angled forward collisions. There's also an upgraded blind spot monitoring system as well as a new lateral airbag system to protect rear occupants.
In terms of size, the new Civic offers a little bit more interior space, and 419 L of cargo space. The Honda Civic has a longer wheelbase which is built on a new chassis which is more rigid to improve overall comfort.
The 2022 Honda Civic will get two engine options like the current model. The new Civic features a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine that delivers 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. This is the same level of performance as the previous Civic, but this new engine is more efficient with an average fuel economy rating that decreases by 0.2 L per 100 km. The Civic Touring will also get a 1.5 L turbocharged engine which delivers 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque which is a decent improvement over the current generation. This turbocharged engine is also more efficient than the outgoing powertrain by 0.3 L per 100 km.
The new Civic is more comfortable, more refined, and a lot more enjoyable to drive. Give us a call today to learn more about this new Civic.
