The Honda Prelude Returns: A Modern Classic Coming Soon to Village Honda

After more than two decades away, an icon is making its return – and we couldn’t be more excited. The All-new Honda Prelude is expected to arrive in late 2025, and it’s bringing back everything drivers loved about this legendary coupe – with a hybrid twist.

A Legacy Reborn

First introduced in the late 1970s, the Prelude earned its place in Honda history with sleek styling, agile performance, and forward-thinking technology. Now, it’s being reimagined for a new generation: a sporty two-door hybrid coupe that’s just as focused on fun as it is on fuel efficiency.

What to Expect

The new Prelude will feature:

A hybrid powertrain with a two-motor setup – similar to what you’ll find in the latest Accord and CR-V hybrids. Approximately 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque for responsive, everyday performance
A “Honda S+ Shift” mode**, simulating gear changes for a more connected, manual-like driving feel
Underpinnings from the Civic Type R, including its suspension and Brembo front brakes – meaning real driving dynamics

While there won’t be a manual transmission, Honda has focused on creating a ride that still feels alive and engaging.

Sleek and Sophisticated

From what we’ve seen of the concept and development models, the new Prelude will be a head-turner-  low-slung and aerodynamic, with a modern take on classic coupe proportions. The interior is expected to follow Honda’s new design language: clean, intuitive, and driver-focused.

Why It Matters

This isn’t just a nostalgic nameplate. The Prelude is part of Honda’s broader commitment to performance and sustainability. As the company moves toward electrification, the Prelude shows there’s still plenty of room for style, spirit, and driving fun in Honda’s future lineup.

Coming Soon to Calgary

The 2026 Honda Prelude is expected to hit showrooms across North America later this year.
